GENERAL INFORMATION ON ALL WORKSHOPS HELD AT THE
OAKLAND STUDIO
Workshops at Fenton Glass - Moon Mountain Studios provide a unique learning
experience. All workshops are hands-on and are limited to eight students
(lecture-demonstrations may take more).
The 6,000 square foot studio, with extensive workbench and light table surfaces,
provides very comfortable working conditions.
All materials and use of shop tools are included during the workshop. Students get to take their work home. We invite students with any level of
experience since there is always something new to learn and discover. There is no entrance exam and no Art Police. We encourage the students to
work relatively small because we try to include many techniques in each session. Larger works take longer to fire and we compress a large volume of techniques
and technical information into a finite time capsule.
A 50% deposit is required to hold your place in any class. Payment may
be made by check or money order (mail to address below). This deposit is
refundable only if the class is cancelled or if there is another student
available to take your place.
Class hours are from 10 AM to 6 PM each day with a break around 1 PM for
lunch. Some workshops may include an evening session for a slide
lecture. A list of lodging recommendations will be sent to those students
visiting from out of town. We are three miles from the Oakland
International Airport and about a half mile from the BART Coliseum
Station. Detailed directions are sent to all students that register in our
workshops.
